About The Author
Kathryn McConnell is a children’s author who believes that health, wonder, and a connection to nature help children grow into confident, compassionate humans.
Inspired by childhood summers spent on her grandparents’ farm, Kathryn developed a deep appreciation for simple nourishment—clean water, real food, time outdoors, and the freedom to imagine. These early experiences continue to shape both her life and her storytelling.
After many years in the corporate world in Toronto, Kathryn stepped away to return to what mattered most: supporting children’s well-being and protecting the natural gifts that help families thrive.
A culinary nutrition graduate, Kathryn is passionate about helping families nourish their bodies with real food and simple, delicious meals. Writing children’s books became a natural extension of this work—blending gentle magic with real-world wisdom to inspire healthy choices.
Kathryn lives on the east coast of Canada, where she enjoys writing, painting, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
When children are nourished—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—they flourish.

Why I Write for Children
Children are naturally curious, open-hearted, and deeply connected to the world around them. I write stories that honour that connection—stories that gently remind children that their bodies are wise, nature is powerful, and their choices matter.
Through imagination and magic, I aim to introduce important ideas in a way that feels comforting rather than overwhelming. My hope is that these stories not only entertain, but also help children feel confident, capable, and inspired to care for themselves and the world they are growing into.
